Revd Brian Wilson
Meet Brian! Brian, a Presbyterian Minister, now called to overseas mission, serves as Librarian at the Peter Achimugu College of Theology (PACT) in Ankpa, Nigeria.
Brian Wilson is preparing to move to Nigeria where he will serve as a librarian in Peter Achimugu College of Theology.
Brian's roots are in the village of Garvagh, County Londonderry. His Father was a farmer and his Mother a teacher. He grew up attending 1st Garvagh Presbyterian Church, which has played an important role in his life. His parents were both Christians and he gradually became aware of his need for salvation also and subsequently also became a Christian. His desire to preach and serve in ministry was there from an early age which in later years lead to him becoming a Presbyterian Minister.
His ministry assistantships were in Belfast, Saintfield and County Cavan. But it was a course in librarianship which opened doors to missionary service. He served, firstly, for seven months with the United Mission to Nepal, and then went to India where he worked for seven years at Woodstock School. Work in India meant a full time job as a school librarian plus a role as a minister in the Church of North India. Following this he served for many years as a minister in Ireland with PCI.
It was a conversation with Paul Bailie where reference was made to the need for people with knowledge of both Theology and Librarianship that encouraged his decision towards serving in Nigeria. He will commences his service in the autumn of this year.
