Mission Africa’s Child Sponsorship Programme can support up to 200 children and is located in the Donegore Centre in a rural village in Kogi State Nigeria. For £20 per month, the programme helps to support a child through:

Every child on sponsorship participates in Food Shares, which occur at regular intervals throughout the year. They are each given a large bag of rice, beans and seasoning, which provide a good supplement to their diet.
To become a sponsor with Mission Africa is to extend love and friendship to an orphan or vulnerable child in Nigeria. As a sponsor, you will experience great joy as you watch your sponsor child grow and mature. You will be playing your part in giving the child that you sponsor the opportunity to come to know Jesus, experience the blessings of a family and acquire vital skills for life.
As a sponsor, you will receive an initial sponsorship pack which will include a photo and profile introducing you to the child that you will now be sponsoring. You will have the opportunity to write to your child twice a year along with participating in our Christmas Appeal and sending a small gift to them. You will then receive a handwritten letter from your sponsor child along with an update on the overall programme.
We tend to allocate sponsors to the next available child on our list, however we can allow you to choose whether you would like to sponsor a boy or girl and their approximate age. If we cannot assign you the age of child that you have requested, we will write to you informing you of the change.
Children tend to be on the programme until they turn 18 years of age or graduate from secondary school. Many of our sponsors stay with the programme for a significant number of years and sponsor several children during this time. There are occasions where children are no longer part of the programme. We will notify you by email/post if there are any changes to the circumstances of your sponsor child.
Your £20 monthly contribution will primarily support the child or teenager you sponsor, while a small portion helps fund the dedicated staff at the centre who create a safe and nurturing environment for all the children.
